We had a great time on two hikes with Lido Tours. Madeira Peaks was amazing but challenging. Our guides were the best. Knowledgeable, nice and professional.

My wife and I booked 3 tours with Lido for our trip to Madeira this year. Having never used them before I wondered if booking a few weeks in advance online was a bit of a risk. I need not have worried, Lido Tour’s were brilliant giving swift emailed confirmation with good details of time and location for pick up. Charlotte was our guide for 2 of the 3 days and was excellent. She amazed us with her seemingly endless number of languages that she was fluent in. Keeping everyone safe was paramount and she was careful with briefings and making sure we all kept together. We loved the Madeira peaks walk, they do mark this walk as hard, and it was. Almost every step of the 12 km was an either up or down steps, so quite demanding but very rewarding. If you are looking for a less demanding walk the Laramo coastal walk was wonderful, and not many other people on it which was a bonus. Booking online in advance is a good way of ensuring you can book the walks that you want as they get booked up pretty quickly, if you leave it until you arrive in Madeira many will already be booked. We would recommend Lido Tours and would definitely use them next time.

Vi tyckte mycket om turerna öst och väst med helt olika upplevelser av Madeiras natur. Vår guide Marco var mycket kunnig och talade 2 språk och hade dessutom humor och ett fantastiskt skratt. Vi kan varmt rekommendera dessa 2 turer.

We loved our Tours and the whole experience with Lido Tours in Madeira. First class service from booking to pick up to tours. We did the Nun's Valley, East Tour, West Tour, and Fonts 25 walk. Expriencia expetacular, tudo perfeito, Nuno o driver e guia, exemplar explica tudo ao permenor.( Parabens) so um pequeno senao, o ar condicionado da carrinha nao era suficiente dado as altas temperaturas sentidas neste dia(13/4/2024) mas tudo perfeito, recomendo

We did the East tour , our driver and tour guide Nono was fantastic! We had traffic problems getting to the highest peak. He had an alternative ready and saved us a 2 hour wait stuck in traffic! We loved his second option of rum distillery and wonderful coastal scenery. This was our second trip with Lido tours. Would highly recommend.

I did this walk with Michael - an extremely cold day - initially did not even give name - had to ask for it. In parts of this walk Michael was well in front of us - lucky for him the group was small and we kept together - there was a few very tricky bits - extremely slippy on rocks - one part we had to crawl up on to steps - we were mostly women - short legs - he was nowhere to be seen at this part. I felt as a guide he should have been visible at all times and pro active in his care for his clients which he was not - one of the ladies asked that we could slow down as we had very little chance to take photos and I had to ask for a water stop.

We did the Larano walk on Sat 9th March - and this was a replacement for the "2 Peaks Hike" - which was unfortunately cancelled due to adverse weather up in the mountains. Sara was our guide and ensured the group of 15 had a decent replacement walk - with some spectacular views along the coast. Some beautiful scenery along the way, lots of Eucalyptus trees - but the koalas have not moved in yet (!) For those interested, Sara recommended that May/June/Sep/Oct are better weather months for the "2 Peaks" walk - although you could get adverse weather anytime of the year. Thanks again Lido tours for a good weekend.
